God loves you. 6-19-2023

Exactly one week ago I went shopping and bought Spider-Man shorts. Then immediately afterwards the entire district pulled up to the institute building and we all (except for one, she called her boyfriend on the messenger app, which is disobedient) played chair soccer for 2 hours. The AC was broken so it was toasty as heck in there! After the sisters left the rest of us elders played a game called unstable unicorns, pretty fun game for real. I was able to call family and my brother and his new wife and my aunt and uncle Mike and Charity were all there in Arkansas, what a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed catching up with all them. On the day of Tuesday we did service for our friend Scott in the trailer park. He told us a funny story of how he got a felony back in California. He poured 2 bags of concrete mix in his tube bumper on his old jeep and he went to a grocery store parking lot and ran over dozens of shopping carts. He was gangsta, now he's got the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This week was tough, people were twice as rude as they usually are  yay! My culinary skills are increasing more and more each day, I made some pork chops the other day that were pretty good. I've also perfected the beef and potato skillet. Thank you mom for teaching me how to shop only when stuff is on sale, learning adult skills is fun! We visited an inactive family and they were pretty cool, they had walls and walls of movies and video games. Like it was crazy, and they had all kinds of anime, DnD, superhero merch. They gave me a fruit cake flavored mountain dewski, don't recommend it. During lunch we got a car wash and my comp forgot to roll his window up, he learned that lesson quick (on a real quick side note. I love Elder Peoples but I do not like the way he drives, bless his heart) afterwards we got Jimmie John's and I talked to these 2 college girls who both had Lulu lemon fanny packs (it's a new trend, I got one a few weeks ago, it's helped me start so ma

On Sunday we went to a baby shower! It was superhero themed, my companion took home a Batman table piece for the apartment.  Monday the preparation day was a good one, my companion Elder Peoples birthday is on Tuesday so we celebrated with the district today. The senior missionaries, the Updikes made us homemade sub sandwiches and lemon pie. We played board games and I won every round except for one. Elder Peoples mom got him a Target online pickup order of cupcakes, laundry soap, ice cream and soda pop. Our most progressing friend Chris Falgiani put himself on date for baptism for June 26 (my birthday, I will put my address down below if you feel obliged to send me a card or anything)  Tuesday my companions birthday!! The Relief Society president came and dropped off eible-skevers for breakfast. They were pretty delicious. For service we volunteered at a place called Family Promise which houses homeless and helps them get back on their feet, the organization is inside an old abandon

Moscow Idaho 5-29-2023

Howdy folks! It's been a minute since I've shared an update with yall so here we go. I have been in the town of Moscow Idaho for about 2 weeks and have already been astounded at how incredible the Lord's work can really be. The area I came into has some awesome friends that we have been teaching. Chris is an inspiration, he is trying so hard to overcome the trial of smoking in his life and he has such an earnest desire to draw closer to Christ. Keep him in your prayers. We have also been teaching an atheist named Garrett who attends church and institute classes regularly, he's an interesting one.... The apartment I live in is a 2 man (it's been an adjustment getting used to having one singular roommate who is my companion) we reside in the basement of a dentist office and everytime we make toast or cook virtually anything with the oven all the fire alarms go off, ahhhh! If you are into true crime type shows or podcasts you may be aware of the quadruple homicide th

This week we had zone conference, got to see a lot of familiar faces. My companion and I hosted because it was our building. Our mission president and his wife gave us a revelatory experience as they spoke on faith and how to incorporate it into the work. We had pizza (and them we ate pizza for 4 days after that ) I'm literally lactose intolerant, send help.    Howdy folks! How have you found joy in your life this week? For me I found joy in the small moments. I have been serving in Post Falls Idaho for the last 6 months of my life. Time has snuck by me, it's already the month of May, I cannot believe that. I have been serving in 2 wards, White Pines (WP) and Prairie Falls (PF.) The WP Ward is 80% young families all with young kids and I love the family vibe, some of my closest friend relationships come from this ward. The PF Ward is more so older families. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in this area (I say this with my fingers crossed that I get transferred next week) I am

Hey y'all it's been a minute, not a whole lot has been happening with me....still in the same area....still doing the same work and I've been loving it....most days. We had a few crazy, fun, and spiritual experiences throughout the last few weeks and I will now bullet point them to consolidate.  • On an exchange with my district leader Elder Smith (his whole personality is God Guns & Trump) the very first door we hit a lady answered and she was depressed. She told us that when we saw 3 of our best friends die in front of us then we could come back, she then threatened suicide while holding a katana then slammed the door. Eek. • If the name Jeremiah Poe means anything to you this story will be fun. Elder Thomas Tregaskes (a friend of mine serving in Italy texts me and says he has a video call lesson scheduled with Poe, a mutual friend of ours from school) when the day arrived all he did was bash as we tried to teach the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We tri

We survived the first week of the new transfer. I'm in the same area with my same companion Elder Tate. Not a whole lot of complaints, could use some new scenery though.....Our new district leader is interesting, I say that in a good way. His name is Elder Smith and he's a rough cut country stock kinda kid. I really enjoy him, he balances out the city boy to "country" boy ratio. This week has been fairly normal, we were able to confirm Mary Taylor on Easter Sunday and there were very powerful musical numbers and talks given. He is Risen. Taught a few 90+ year old women who would much rather compliment our handsomeness than hear a message about the restored church of Jesus Christ. Started a garden in my bathroom. Played football with some kids in a park. Had vodka pasta. That was about it for this week. Also my mother wanted me to include a poem I had written for Easter, here it is ⤵  ♡♡ As we commemorate this week so Holy Let us turn to Christ who loves us so wholly
