Happy Thanksgiving 11-25-2022

Image
November 25, 2022     This morning I had the distinct privilege of participating in the choir and performing the song "Blessings" for Elder Quentin L Cook of the Quorum of the 70. The broadcast was live-streamed to every MTC and sent to most every missionary, the chorister said to not look at the camera/TV. I winked at the camera and I'm sure some random person in Asia saw me and sure as heck giggled. Song went beautifully and Elder Cook had wonderful remarks on gratitude and love for every aspect of your mission, bars. His wife had us perform a song of thankfulness, music is definitely a good way to feel the Spirit. The Thanksgiving meal was actually decent, turkey veggies rolls and such. Immediately after we went to another devotional, the theme being the humanitarian efforts of the Church and the importance of serving ye fellow man. Hit me up sometime. Then we had the neat opportunity to help prepare meals (approx. 144,220 of them) The local news station arrived and I...

L ife is all about change, whether we like it or not. It's been something I've struggling with as a missionary (getting transferred would have broke this camels back, thank goodness I'm staying in Moscow) Some of my best friends back home just got engaged. Another dear friend hit his 1 year mark on his mission. I've been out here for 9 months. I've already missed so many things (new Spider-Man, weddings, graduations, music albums, etc) There is an old adage out here in the field, "forget yourself and go to work." It's crazy how much joy and fulfillment there is in the work when you truly "forget yourself and go to work."  In the last few weeks our mission has seen so many miracles. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church, I bear solemn testimony of this divine truth. It's humbling to think that He has entrusted me, as weak and inefficient as I am to be a part of this marvelous work and wonder.  In the words of the long honored hymn Pra...

John 20:21 - He is Risen 4-10-2023

We survived the first week of the new transfer. I'm in the same area with my same companion Elder Tate. Not a whole lot of complaints, could use some new scenery though.....Our new district leader is interesting, I say that in a good way. His name is Elder Smith and he's a rough cut country stock kinda kid. I really enjoy him, he balances out the city boy to "country" boy ratio. This week has been fairly normal, we were able to confirm Mary Taylor on Easter Sunday and there were very powerful musical numbers and talks given. He is Risen. Taught a few 90+ year old women who would much rather compliment our handsomeness than hear a message about the restored church of Jesus Christ. Started a garden in my bathroom. Played football with some kids in a park. Had vodka pasta. That was about it for this week. Also my mother wanted me to include a poem I had written for Easter, here it is ⤵  ♡♡ As we commemorate this week so Holy Let us turn to Christ who loves us so wholly...
