The highlight of my week (which has also been the highlight of this transfer) was when Elder Brent H Neilsen came and spoke at our zone conference. For all yall who don't know who he is, here's a brief synopsis...he is a member of the presidency of the 70, he works alongside the prophet and quorum of the 12 daily, he was head of the entire missionary department for 5 years, and he only has one "mission tour" a year and he chose ours. Our mission president had us studying, praying and fasting like crazy prior to the meeting so we could all come spiritually prepared to receive revelation and my prayers were answered in full. In my area, in the two wards we cover finding is harder than a needle in a haystack sometimes. Like we do everything we can, grind service, splash tract, utilize members etc and we can hardly find. Thank goodness Elder Neilsen came through by providing new ways to find mostly involving tech. I guess we do live in the year 2023 where 99% of people are glued to their phones. For the past few weeks we have been grinding facebook work and it's been quite successful! I found the lady i met on the airplane to Spokane on their and started a really good conversation, God puts people in your life that you need to meet. There are no coincidences. Also earlier this week I participated in a zone leader exchange where I spent the day in Rathdrum, that is a fun place. Met a few fun mountain people, a lot of trailer park individuals (we saw someone steal a mountain bike and get chased down in a Ford ranger pickup "hey yall, they stole our sh.." I can't say I learned a whole lot from my zone leaders, but I did enjoy working in a new area for the day. One of my favorite things about the wards we cover is that they have a lot of youth, so I always try and spend more time talking to them because they are hilarious. Member dinners are particularly fun if the family has little kids because I have the energy and humor of a 5 yr old. They truly are my people. One of our elders has been eating coffee chocolate all week without knowing it, so funny. Now that the snow is mostly gone and the sun is shining and it's warm enough for no sweater some days I am happy. We are chopping wood, talking to people on the streets and missionary work is just 20× times better when it's warm. It was a good week.....until Saturday when I caught a sickness. I have spent the last few days dying as we've been working nonstop. Spent a majority of this morning sleeping but we're thriving. Reach out for a funny story or two.........
