Hi 3-06-2023

 (Last week)

This week was a blurrr. Here's what happened...we found the new missionary with a trap phone. Then we went bowling, and transfers happened. I got a new comp (Elder Tate) he speaks Spanish I do not. I am now an admin for the mission Facebook page and am even more busy. I have been officially leading the area and it's stressful, thank goodness for our phenomenal members. One of my favorite families gave me a box of 18 cans of vienna sausages. This week the weather flip flopped from warm and sunny to freezing and wind chill of -10 back to warm and sunny to which it then snowed almost a foot in some places. The funniest old veteran works with us at our volunteer thrift store and he cracks me up. I met this amish fam who all had crosses drawn on their foreheads. Then we put some random dude on date for baptism in our first contact (update, he's MIA). It was a pretty good week.

(This week) 
This last most current week... I have been studying the power of authority. (Priesthood and such) and have been asking everyone that antis us one simple question.....where did your pastor get his authority to baptize? And more often then not they'll get confused. My scriptural knowledge has increased and it's been helping in door contacts. The most exciting news I have is we put a lady by the name of Mary Taylor on date for baptism, (backstory she has been taught by missionaries for the last 10 years, this is the first time she has been progressing towards baptism) Whilst tracting in the trailer park we met a fella named Brock who's body was disproportionate and hairy. All he was wearing was an Irish kilt. While talking to Damon (chief of police) he received 3 calls about UFOs, which turned out to be Venus and Jupiter. We got cursed out on a Ring doorbell, chopped some wood. Met an Aussie, helped 3 people move (all headed to warm climates, lucky ducks) taught someone who doesn't believe Christ suffered enough. That was a hard one to deal with... I set the record on this ab machine roller in some members home. We ate a boujee dinner at some high dollar restaurant and I got the Mac and Cheese and it was nasty. Sorry for the short sporadic email I've been a busy body.

  It's been a while since I wrote an email. A lot has happened! So our friend Asia did get baptized! It was an incredible service. Her leg was still hurting from the bus accident so she stood for the duration of the entire service and when she walked into the font and I baptized her she said there was no pain in her legs which was a miracle. She has been coming to church to an earlier ward because she had a Sunday work schedule but just this week she was able to shift that around so we're looking forward to having her come to her ward and grow in the gospel.  In other news I have been quite busy with some of the craziest things I've seen in my life. I thought this area couldn't get any sketchier but alas it has .... We are teaching a friend named Clarice and we showed up to her house for a lesson and there were six cop cars in the front yard. What do you know about the North Side? 10-23-2023

  We were in the north side of our area, and we were looking for a friend named Korey who missionaries have not contacted in a long time. There was this random guy leaf blowing the parking lot and it turned out he was Korey and he invited us inside his home because he said they were evil spirits inside of his bedroom and inside of his wife. We went inside and offered a prayer to bless the home and then I offered a blessing upon his wife and that was a really cool experience because right before she was super irritable and mad at her husband but afterwards she was crying and laughing and super happy so that was a testimony to me of priesthood power. This week I also went on an exchange with my zone leader Elder Keller who I served around in Moscow. This was his first time in his mission on a bike and he had the time of his life. Forest fire 8-5-2024

I have been pretty horrible at sending out emails as of late. I can't really remember what I put in the last update so I will run through the last few weeks. Our friend Jim got baptized and the week after our friend Henry got baptized. We were teaching Jim for a while and it was a pretty routine. Henry all the other hand came out of nowhere and the whole thing was a miracle. We saw Henry had been contacted by missionaries months ago and we were swinging by to meet him and the first time he wasn't home but the second time he was and he said he'd actually been attending church off and on for the last little bit. We made the connection and realized he had been coming to church functions for years so we invited him to be baptized that week and he was all for it. He was baptized on a Saturday and since then he has been consistent with church and scripture study and even brought a non-member friend who we are now teaching.
