Those were the best 2 years as they say. I ended my mission on a high note, our friend Scott was baptized!! I'll be flying into Arkansas Wednesday night so that'll be fun. On to my next adventure whatever that is! Thank you everyone for the support :)

Almost there 9-23-2024

Hello everyone who reads these emails. Not too sure how many of you there are anymore but thanks for sticking with me through these last 2 years. Next Wednesday on October 2nd I'll be hopping on an airplane and flying home. Crazy how fast it's coming up so we're going to lock in this next week and give it everything we got. Our friend Scott who was supposed to get baptized a week or so ago got covid so we met with him yesterday and finalized plans for his baptism which will be happening on Sunday which is like 3 days before I fly out so it's kind of like a buzzer beater baptism but he really wants me to do it and he's excited. My companion and I have been visiting all the friends and teaching all the lessons and he is learning a lot and it's been really fun to see both ends of the spectrum of a brand new missionary and about to finish missionary. I look forward to going home and seeing the family and making a trip to Arizona too see even more family. If you th...

We're about 3 weeks into the transfer and it's been bittersweet. I've had my last zone breakfast, last zone council, last interview with my mission president and this week on Wednesday I'll attend my last zone conference. My companion and I are getting along great, he's been updating me on everything that's happening in the "outside world." He's been recommending all these movies and tv shows and things to do, I doubt I'll have the time because they say life gets even busier after your mission is over. We've been on a couple of exchanges, pretty typical stuff happened except one thing I've never seen before .. I was with Elder Christensen in a place called Wieppe (population 412) this town is so odd, its the type of place to live if you're hiding from the government. Anyways we stopped our car to talk to this older lady walking down the road with a shopping cart and Elder Christensen attempts to engage her in conversation, he's ...

I received my brand new missionary on Wednesday, he is from Gilbert Arizona so that's sweet. He is scared of the winter rightfully so. I have 37 days left before I head home, it's crazy. Drop some life advice down below please. There's going to be a lot of change when I get home, not sure how I feel about it yet. My oldest brother and his wife are expecting a kid in a couple weeks so I'll be on uncle status and my brother right below me in age is on a mission as of about a month or so ago and oh yeah my family lives in Arkansas. Right now we are teaching a really neat lady (Nicole) who loves to read and study so after we introduced her to the gospel library app she went wild and read the first 40 sections of the Doctrine and Covenants, most of the Pearl of Great Price, a bunch of conference talks, and of course the Book of Mormon. She has developed a testimony of the restored gospel and desires baptism. There are a few obstacles so extra prayers for her would be incre...

6 weeks left 8-19-2024

I start my last transfer tomorrow, I will be staying in Orofino and I will have the privilege of training a brand new missionary. Its gonna be great. Here are some updates in the work ... Our friend Henry got the aaronic priesthood last week. Our friend Nicole has been absolutely grinding in the Gospel Library. She's read the first 2 books in the Book of Mormon, 1/3 of the Doctrine and Covenants and a lot of the other resources in the app. She has a hunger for the Gospel! She came to church for the first time yesterday and enjoyed it a lot! Not much else is new. After a while missionary work becomes life and everything seems normal to me. I'm doing really good and hope you are too!

I have been pretty horrible at sending out emails as of late. I can't really remember what I put in the last update so I will run through the last few weeks. Our friend Jim got baptized and the week after our friend Henry got baptized. We were teaching Jim for a while and it was a pretty routine. Henry all the other hand came out of nowhere and the whole thing was a miracle. We saw Henry had been contacted by missionaries months ago and we were swinging by to meet him and the first time he wasn't home but the second time he was and he said he'd actually been attending church off and on for the last little bit. We made the connection and realized he had been coming to church functions for years so we invited him to be baptized that week and he was all for it. He was baptized on a Saturday and since then he has been consistent with church and scripture study and even brought a non-member friend who we are now teaching. He is 18 years old and is a funny skater type kid. He...

A lot has happened since my last email, we just finished the transfer here in Orofino. Tomorrow I start my second to last one. We were able to experience many things particularly miracles in the work. After our friend Roy got baptized we met someone named Peyton who had just gotten back from college for the summer. She has been attending church off and on for the last few years of her life with a less active family in the ward. She expressed interest in being baptized so we arranged for the YSA sister missionaries in the zone to teach her and she got baptized 5 days after her request and we were there for it. We were finding and teaching a lot of people and met Jim who actually worked with our friend Roy. Jim has been a pleasure to work with because he is a very simple man and he loved everything we shared. He got baptized last week on July 6th! Right now we are currently working with a good handful of people who have a lot of potential for this month. When one puts their head down an...
