Update for all yall 9-9-2024

We're about 3 weeks into the transfer and it's been bittersweet. I've had my last zone breakfast, last zone council, last interview with my mission president and this week on Wednesday I'll attend my last zone conference. My companion and I are getting along great, he's been updating me on everything that's happening in the "outside world." He's been recommending all these movies and tv shows and things to do, I doubt I'll have the time because they say life gets even busier after your mission is over. We've been on a couple of exchanges, pretty typical stuff happened except one thing I've never seen before .. I was with Elder Christensen in a place called Wieppe (population 412) this town is so odd, its the type of place to live if you're hiding from the government. Anyways we stopped our car to talk to this older lady walking down the road with a shopping cart and Elder Christensen attempts to engage her in conversation, he's asking about her faith and what her baptism experience was like when she was a kid and she must've gotten offended because she reached through the window and slapped him! It was so funny we drove off in shock but laughed soon after haha. For the past 2 months or so we have been meeting with a friend Scott, his wife was a inactive member who hadn't been to church in years. We were recommended to visit them by our ward coordination and they were gracious in allowing us to meet with them. Scott had a stroke back in March and that completely changed his life. He had to learn to walk, talk, eat and pretty much everything again. His recovery has been gradual, since we've been seeing him we've seen improvement. Before his stroke he wasn't sure God existed and he was a depressed alcoholic. I don't believe it because the Scott I know always has a smile on his face and he has strong faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! For the last couple weeks we've set a few dates for baptism but something always came up (last one was the opening week for archery elk) but yesterday at church we were finally able to nail down a specific day and time. Scott Musgrave will be baptized and enter into a covenant with his Father in Heaven this Sunday right after church and he wants me to perform the ordinance. It's an honor, it really is. This will more than likely be the last baptism I take part in as a full time missionary. One last thing about Scott and his wife Loretta .. they have a goal to go to the temple to get sealed to each other and their kids. That's what its all about! Eternal families! My mission experience so far has had a lot of ups and downs but there has always been one constant and that is Jesus Christ! & yes for whomever is curious .. I am trunky.
