My comp got hit by a car, then I got hit by a car 12-13-2023
We have come to the end of another transfer, and wow this was the craziest transfer of my mission. As the title alluded, I got hit by a car! On an exchange with another Elder in his area we were on our way to a baptismal interview but he realized he forgot the church key so we flipped a U and started heading back to his apartment and as we went through an intersection with a green light, this lady turned and smacked right into us. We were all right and the car was busted up so they had to take it to the shop.
When me and my companion were riding bikes down the road a lady turned right into my companion and hit him on his bike but luckily he was not injured. Crazy times in Spokane!
It's been snowing off and on but mostly melting which is unfortunate because I would like a white Christmas. A while ago I may have mentioned that the bikes we use got stolen. Not too long ago on an exchange with my zone leader we were up near the river and we were talking to this homeless man and we offered help. He said we can help carry his bicycles for him, as I picked up his bicycle I recognized it immediately as the bike that I had which was stolen. I would have called him out except for there were no tires on the bike so I laughed it off and helped carry it to his homeless camp. Also he said he traded it for another bike so there must be a hobo underground bike market in Spokane.
There is a person named Michael Burnley who I found my first week in Spokane almost 12 weeks ago, his story has been one full of ups and downs. He wanted to get baptized but his wife never gave the approved permissions. On an exchange we knocked his door and his wife opened and I sweet talked her and she let us inside. We testified of Jesus Christ and how Michael has changed as he's grown spiritually and we were able to hear her give permission for Michael to be baptized which was awesome! Yesterday I administered the baptismal interview and tonight he will be baptized. Although he is not in my area and I have not taught him for the duration of his conversion process he has been one of the biggest miracles I've seen being able to find him and then attend his baptism!
