Hey everyone! Hope all is going well in your life. Mine certainly got crazier this last week. My favorite zone leader Elder Montgomery from Snowflake arranged an exchange where him and I worked in Cheney Washington. One of the best days out here, we have so much in common and we had a blast. In the evening our mission president called his phone, we looked at each other like "whattt the". He answers and is asked to take it off speaker phone. He got called to be the tech lead of the Washington Spokane Mission. We were a little bummed because I had just gotten to Spokane East but we knew his talents were needed elsewhere. I was just glad I got one exchange with him! The next day were interviews and mine was great. We counseled about the area and he said he was proud of me. Later that day I got a call from the assistants to the president and they called me to be the district leader in my area. Long story short the previous district leader was not performing well in his companionship or area. So much happened!
Highlights from the week also include
- A friend named Greg got baptized a week before I got here to Airway Heights, but my first Sunday in the area he got confirmed. I stood in on the circle and he bore powerful testimony at the end of the meeting that Joseph Smith was a prophet and so is Russell, in his own words! This is incredible because a few weeks ago he was hesitant to even read from the Book of Mormon. His growth in the gospel has been a miracle.
- We found a new friend by the name of Lotus. She is 10 years old and her father is cool with us teaching her. She is really spiritual and so genuine. We taught her the Restoration and gave her a kids Book of Mormon and she said she wants to get baptized! She said a prayer and she prayed for all puppies, especially one named Cookie she is the sweetest little thing.
- There is a Goodwill bins here and I went and it was chaos, I didn't find anything good but I'll go back soon.
We had stake conference and there were a few quotes that stood out to me, here they are...
"That if we work to exalt others that very work will exalt us."
"Making covenants is about our relationship with God, keeping covenants is about our relationship with others."
"Be where the Lord can find you."
