Thanks be Given 11-27-2023

 I started my week off with an exchange in another elder's area. We talked with a Thai kid named Ghetto who is a refugee and now he lives in an actual ghetto. After that we stopped by 2 guys who were watching UFC, they were reluctant to let us in but I pulled the "may I use your restroom" card and it worked. One of them was intoxicated and he proceeded to get vulnerable and share his life story which was sad unfortunately. The other guy was talking to my comp and showing him pictures of his infected foot which was split in half in the photo  afterwards we had a lesson with a recent convert in their ward, his story is really awesome. At one stage of his life he weighed 300ish pounds. Now he is under 100 pounds, the weight loss was due to a battle with cancer in which he won. He also has a trachea hole in his throat. Apparently when he was baptized a few months ago he was the only one in the room not scared of water getting in his lungs. He used his thumb to plug up the hole and he was baptized without any incident! #faith


Thanksgiving happened! I sure am grateful for the Lord and how he's prepared me to where I am at now in my life. I am grateful for my family, parents especially and all they've done for me. I am grateful for my mission experience thus far. I am grateful for support from grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. I am grateful for sunsets and good food and warm clothes. I am super grateful that my companion didn't die when he got hit by a car on Thanksgiving as well! Haha Storytime, on our way to dinner we were biking and we crossed a stretch of road, this lady rolled up to the stop sign. Evidently she was on her phone and barely noticed that I crossed in front of her, she then started into her right turn and smacked my companion with the front of her car. She waited till I got the bike pedal unstuck from her bumper before she promptly left. We had a great rest of our day and week! I hope you did too.

Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

This time of year is prime hunting and fishing season, but now is the time for me to focus on the "hunting, fishing, and gathering" of God's children. Yee yee

  It's been a while since I wrote an email. A lot has happened! So our friend Asia did get baptized! It was an incredible service. Her leg was still hurting from the bus accident so she stood for the duration of the entire service and when she walked into the font and I baptized her she said there was no pain in her legs which was a miracle. She has been coming to church to an earlier ward because she had a Sunday work schedule but just this week she was able to shift that around so we're looking forward to having her come to her ward and grow in the gospel.  In other news I have been quite busy with some of the craziest things I've seen in my life. I thought this area couldn't get any sketchier but alas it has .... We are teaching a friend named Clarice and we showed up to her house for a lesson and there were six cop cars in the front yard. Poop......There It Is 3-13-2023

  This week was a wild ride that's for sure. On Monday we were shooting hoops and a huge gathering of 14 year old boys showed up with this dude that had a really cool beard and then we proceeded to ball up with them. The teams were interposed between youth and elders. I was on the team with the scrawnier kids but we won. It was fun crossing kids up, breaking their ankles, they were slipping and sliding everywhere. Then the worst thing in the world happened. Our plumbing took a dive, there is a sump pump in our basement that takes the sewage up top where the septic tank is at. Posted in all of the restrooms is a sign that says do not flush more than 18 inches of toilet paper or feminine hygiene products or wet wipes etc. Or else you can clog the sump pump and it'll be a $250 fee to fix and repair. So we have been super diligent about following that rule, apparently some Elders months ago must have used dude wipes because the sump pump got clogged and the whole house started floo

Knock Knock 5-1-2023

This week we had zone conference, got to see a lot of familiar faces. My companion and I hosted because it was our building. Our mission president and his wife gave us a revelatory experience as they spoke on faith and how to incorporate it into the work. We had pizza (and them we ate pizza for 4 days after that ) I'm literally lactose intolerant, send help.    Howdy folks! How have you found joy in your life this week? For me I found joy in the small moments. I have been serving in Post Falls Idaho for the last 6 months of my life. Time has snuck by me, it's already the month of May, I cannot believe that. I have been serving in 2 wards, White Pines (WP) and Prairie Falls (PF.) The WP Ward is 80% young families all with young kids and I love the family vibe, some of my closest friend relationships come from this ward. The PF Ward is more so older families.
