The End of The World is Coming! 2-13-2023

 This week was interesting, but this week was also one of much learning. I learned that every single person I talk to has some sort of theory on the end of the world craziness. Chance Ogden thinks the North and South poles are gonna switch and all our cars are gonna explode. Trian thinks Biden is gonna get impeached and shot. Carol thinks 5G causes cancer. Alvin and Jon argued for half an hour about how North Idahons would either all die or all survive if all 5 dams nearby were to be nuked by Russia. And Justin told me how he's pulling up to Israel if a war breaks out because they're the most safe country. My comp and I bummed on the other elders ward for dinner one night and the family that fed us started rambling about so many deep doctrine theories (where dinosaurs are made mention in the Bible, angels and devils that live among us, heebee jeebie voodoo stuff, how are DNA has a written code that corresponds to scripture, etc) I also learned of a toxic culture in the ward that I never picked up on, the Davis family are legit the most genuine and real people I've met and every ward needs one. We went disc golfing with the Brackens and Mike Minckler and we were traversing the snowy mountains for 4 hours and I loved it. We saw so much wildlife, a lot of deer! A few weeks back the other elders got into a fender bender so this week their car was in the shop, car share was wild. I was out walking all day in a crazy rain and wind storm in my new trench coat. The next day was super sunny so we went for a 3 mile run and I whooped all the other missionaries.  

A lot lot more happened but I don't have the energy or willpower to write more, (we spent most the day walking around the mall so one elder could buy lotion for his gf back home, I'm so tired) feel free to reach out for some more crazy crazy stories. Also I watched part of the Super Bowl.

Spiritually this week was very nourishing, between Stake and Ward Conference I learned how to rely on the Spirit and strengthen my testimony. My stake president Moss told a crazy story of how he got kidnapped on his mission because he ignored a prompting from the Spirit. I have a huge love for my Savior Jesus Christ and everything he's done for me. Matthew 7:7

  It's been a while since I wrote an email. A lot has happened! So our friend Asia did get baptized! It was an incredible service. Her leg was still hurting from the bus accident so she stood for the duration of the entire service and when she walked into the font and I baptized her she said there was no pain in her legs which was a miracle. She has been coming to church to an earlier ward because she had a Sunday work schedule but just this week she was able to shift that around so we're looking forward to having her come to her ward and grow in the gospel.  In other news I have been quite busy with some of the craziest things I've seen in my life. Poop......There It Is 3-13-2023

  This week was a wild ride that's for sure. On Monday we were shooting hoops and a huge gathering of 14 year old boys showed up with this dude that had a really cool beard and then we proceeded to ball up with them. The teams were interposed between youth and elders. I was on the team with the scrawnier kids but we won. It was fun crossing kids up, breaking their ankles, they were slipping and sliding everywhere. Then the worst thing in the world happened. Our plumbing took a dive, there is a sump pump in our basement that takes the sewage up top where the septic tank is at. Posted in all of the restrooms is a sign that says do not flush more than 18 inches of toilet paper or feminine hygiene products or wet wipes etc. Or else you can clog the sump pump and it'll be a $250 fee to fix and repair. So we have been super diligent about following that rule, apparently some Elders months ago must have used dude wipes because the sump pump got clogged and the whole house started floo

Knock Knock 5-1-2023

This week we had zone conference, got to see a lot of familiar faces. My companion and I hosted because it was our building. Our mission president and his wife gave us a revelatory experience as they spoke on faith and how to incorporate it into the work. We had pizza (and them we ate pizza for 4 days after that ) I'm literally lactose intolerant, send help.    Howdy folks! How have you found joy in your life this week? For me I found joy in the small moments. I have been serving in Post Falls Idaho for the last 6 months of my life. Time has snuck by me, it's already the month of May, I cannot believe that. I have been serving in 2 wards, White Pines (WP) and Prairie Falls (PF.) The WP Ward is 80% young families all with young kids and I love the family vibe, some of my closest friend relationships come from this ward. The PF Ward is more so older families.
